The SPbGASU scientific and technical library acquired a new domestic scanner

The scientific and technical library of the St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering received new domestic specialized equipment – an "ElarScan A2-600R" scanner.

With the help of the scanner, the library specialists will be able to digitize the most popular, as well as valuable and rare documents from its collection. Scanner "ElarScan A2-600R" allows to do it efficiently and carefully.

"ElarScan A2-600R" makes it possible to scan bound and embroidered library documents up to A2+ in streaming mode. At the same time, it works equally carefully and safely both with originals in good condition and with dilapidated, time-damaged pages.

A professional camera helps in digitizing low-contrast texts and graphics, which is especially important for the library of the University of architecture and civil engineering. Library specialists will be able to easily adjust the V-shaped manual book cradle for different thickness of originals, changing the opening angle to 90, 120 and 180 degrees. The scanner allows you to create electronic copies of reference quality for books up to 15 cm thick and weighing up to 15 kg.

To date, the SPbGASU scientific and technical llibrary stores in its funds more than 1 million publications on construction and  architecture and is considered a complex, dynamically developing system focused on supporting the educational and research process.
