“To develop civil engineering”
On November 27, 2019, the Russian Academy of Engineering summed up the results of a professional competition for the Ivan A. Grishmanov Award in the field of science, technology and production management. Professor of the SPbGASU Department of Construction Technology, RAASN adviser, Yuri N. Kazakov, Dr. of Engineering, became one of the award laureates.

The prize was awarded for the many years of development and introduction of equipment and technologies in the field of modern building materials and the construction of special prefabricated buildings for the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, for the use of advanced forms and methods of organizing industrial production which had a significant economic effect; for merits in training engineering and technical personnel and skilled workers for the construction materials industry and civil engineering industry at SPbGASU, VITU and VA MTO in 1990 - 2019.
Yu. N. Kazakov has been lecturing and conducting classes in various disciplines for 27 years. He is the author of textbooks on wooden housing construction, megalopolis architecture, reconstruction and restoration of real estate, etc. His multifaceted scientific work is combined with successful practical work. Yu.N. Kazakov personally headed the implementation of scientific developments and new prefabricated building systems for the construction of experimental quickly erectable residential complexes and permanent military camps of a new type.
“Thanks to the SPbGASU leaders and my esteemed colleagues, the university has created excellent conditions for the fruitful work of teachers and students. We try to comprehensively conduct educational and research work, methodological and publishing activities. Future plans include working, training the young generation of scientists, further developing civil engineering,” said Yu. N. Kazakov.
