Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin presented the Russian Government Prizes in the field of science and technology. Among the recipients are Yury Panibratov, DSc in Economics, Academician of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences, visiting professor at the SPbGASU Department of Construction Economics and Housing and Utility Infrastructure, rector of our university from 1990 to 2005, and Gennady Badin, former professor at the Department of Construction Technology .
The scientists received such a high praise for the study “Development and implementation of scientific and technical foundations of high-speed energy-efficient building systems and structures for the accelerated socio-economic development of the territories of the Northern Sea Route of Russia”.
“The development of the Arctic is of strategic importance for the development of the economy of our country. This is an area of important energy resources, including oil, natural gas, ore, rare metals, and rare earth elements. However, remoteness, harsh climate, limited construction season, sparse population density, shortage of qualified specialists, and low percentage of labor automation complicate the development of the Arctic. In this scientific work, we proposed prefabricated solutions that allow, under the specified conditions, to manufacture, transport, and install structures of buildings and constructions in a short time. Scientific research and development have proven practical feasibility and effectiveness, since accelerated construction creates conditions both for the residence of specialists and for the development of production and scientific research,” explained Yury Panibratov. Yury Pavlovich recalled that in 2018 this scientific work was noted by the Government of St Petersburg. Its relevance and promise, as well as the far-sightedness of the professors, have been confirmed by time: in 2020, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the Strategy for the Development of the Arctic Zone of Russia and Ensuring National Security until 2035. The developments of the SPbGASU scientists solve the industry-specific tasks set there.
“The Government Prize confirms that we have completed the work on behalf of the President in full, taking into account modern requirements for the economic development of the Arctic,” concluded Yury Pavlovich.
