Universidad Politécnica de Madrid Delegation Visits SPbGASU

On March 21-22, 2019, Professor Javier Girón and Professor Javier Gutiérrez Mosteiro from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) visited SPbGASU.

They made a report ‘Architectural heritage conservation in education at Madrid School of Architecture’ as part of all-Russian scientific conference with international participation ‘Reconstruction and Restoration of Architectural Heritage’.

The guests visited Science and Research Library, Museum of the University History, Saint Petersburg Brick History Museum and SPbGASU Faculty of Architecture.

On March 22, 2019, Prof Girón and Prof Mosteiro had a meeting with Fedor Perov, Dean of the faculty of Architecture, Sergey Sementsov, Head of the Department of Architectural and Urban-Planning Heritage, and Svetlana Petrova, Head of the Department of International Cooperation.

Results of the visit

The parties discussed cooperation and experience exchange in historical metal construction conservation and restoration, protection of architectural heritage objects, intervention criteria and organization of joint seminars on restoration and reconstruction.

SPbGASU actively cooperates with foreign universities. The students study abroad due to double degree or academic mobility programmes; they go abroad for internship and present their fascinating projects. The University also educates international students, invites experts and professors from all over the world to read lectures. These lectures are not only memorable events, but they also enrich study process and give new growth paths.
