One of the key directions of the educational policy implemented by SPbGASU as part of the development program is the expansion and diversification of the practice-oriented educational portfolio. To do this, the university constantly monitors the educational services market, employers' requirements for educational programs, and analyzes the results of admission campaigns.

At the instruction of the university rector, Evgeny Rybnov, a working group led by the first vice-rector Svetlana Golovina and consisting of leading teachers of the departments of computer science, drawing, architectural environment design, as well as specialists from the educational and methodological division, in January-March prepared and submitted a set of documents and materials to Rosobrnadzor for examination for amending the current license of the university.

In accordance with the order of the Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science dated 4 April, 2023 No. 546, SPbGASU received the right to carry out educational activities in five new fields of study / specialties:
