SPbGASU opened an exhibition of projects within the IV International Architectural Open Creative Competition "ArchConcept" for the development of a design concept on the theme "Living Environment. A New Look".

As Ekaterina Vozniak, Dean of the SPbGASU Faculty of Architecture, explained, the competition is held annually, but this year it has acquired international status. The organizers of ArchConcept are the Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Zhengzhou University (China) and the Union of Architects of Saint Petersburg. The jury included Russian and foreign experts in the field of architecture, members of creative unions, representatives of specialized organizations and higher educational institutions of Russia, China and Belarus.

The competition participants included professional architects, restorers, designers and creative teams, students of higher education institutions and students of secondary vocational educational institutions, and schoolchildren. They presented works made in traditional hand graphics, using computer modeling and graphics, in the form of an installation, and also using artificial intelligence (neural networks). Each project presented the author's view of a residential building, their own vision of the housing conditions in which a person can live in the future, taking into account age, sociability, character and preferences.

"The competition gained great popularity when it still had all-Russian status: about three hundred works submitted from different parts of the country participated in it annually. This year we received 528 projects. This exhibition presents only the works of the competition finalists. A similar exhibition of these works was opened at Zhengzhou University. We not only presented the works, but also created a unique design for the exhibition itself. We will announce the winner and diploma winners of the competition in the nominations on 17 December," explained Ekaterina Vozniak.

The exhibition is located on the upper balustrade of the SPbGASU main building and will last until 24 December.
