The “University Session” for schoolchildren from the Kherson region has ended at SPbGASU. According to all participants in the program, it flew by like one day, but the pleasant impressions from numerous events and meetings with interesting people will be remembered for a lifetime.

It seems like just yesterday that the university welcomed the students to the Russian anthem. At the ceremonial closing of the session, the schoolchildren sing it confidently. SPbGASU Vice-Rector for Youth Policy Irina Lugovskaia emphasizes that the “University Session” program has been fully implemented at the university, all its goals have been achieved. “We tried to organize meaningful events and conditions for you to make your stay in our university and city as comfortable as possible. We see that we have succeeded. We are parting with you, but we remain in touch: if necessary, we are ready to share our teaching experience, certain developments in the educational and creative process with the group leaders, and we will be glad to see the guys among our applicants,” she noted.

The head of the schoolchildren group, teacher of additional education at the Genetic Center for Children and Youth Creativity, Natalia Salova, for her part, noted that she had already learned from SPbGASU representatives how, despite any difficulties, find ways to move forward in order to complete the assigned tasks: “It’s not easy, but, probably, this is our pedagogical mission. Thank you for the educational program. I am a choreographer, a specialist, far from the construction industry, but the meetings at the university turned out to be very interesting and useful for me in terms of professional and personal development.”.

The head of the SPbGASU Division of Social and Extracurricular Student Activities, Irina Nuryeva, drew attention to the active participation of the children in events and their interest in student life. “You have seen in practice that at our university there are opportunities to realize oneself in science, creativity, and student squads. It was precisely this cooperation with the university that ensured the high effectiveness of the program: “University Session” was useful and interesting,” Irina Nuryeva told the children.

Eleventh-grader Svetlana Chernyaeva agreed that the session was meaningful and interesting: “I liked everything! I was impressed by the excursion along the rivers and canals of St Petersburg. Despite the busy program, of course, it is impossible to see all the sights of the city at one time, so I want to come back here. It's sad to leave, but I take a lot of impressions with me. I especially liked the communication style of the teachers: despite their credentials and professionalism, they respectfully spoke to us as equals. The university also helped me pay attention to some specialties within the “Start into the Profession”: for example, I became interested in criminology. Even your photographers do their job so well that, unexpectedly, I thought about acquiring such skills.”.

Eleventh-grader Evgeny Yavorsky added that everything was cool. “I was impressed by the National Show Museum “Grand Maket Russia”! I will long remember the days spent in your university and city as part of this session. But I will definitely come back here to visit the Aurora, the Lakhta Center and just walk along the historical streets of the Northern capital,” Evgeny promised.

Throughout the “University Session,” the children were accompanied by employees of the SPbGASU Division of Social and Extracurricular Student Activities – leading specialist Valentina Marchuk and first category specialist Anastasia Latkina.

“I believe that the “University Session” not only gave you vivid impressions and a lot of knowledge, but will certainly change your life for the better,” Valentina Marchuk admonished the guys.
