On 16 May, the SPbGASU Project Architectural Student Center and the architectural studio Orchestra held a workshop “From the search for the territory identity to the creation of unique spaces” in the university space “Growth Point”.
Having united in groups, 30 senior students of the Faculty of Architecture spent an hour and a half developing ideas for landscaping the territory of the former botanical garden in the city of Rodniki, Ivanovo region.
One team worked on ideas for a therapeutic garden (a space for healing and restoration through interaction with plants), the other focused on creating edutainment objects (objects for learning through play). Two more teams were involved in creating an open-air exhibition space. Other teams developed options for the possible organization of spatial connections within the “health quarter”, which unites the project area with the hospital campus and the Trud stadium.
During the workshop, the curators gave brief consultations to the designers. Each group then presented their ideas and received feedback and evaluation. Orchestra representatives highly appreciated the concepts and invited their authors to a paid internship in the studio.
