On 30 October, SPbGASU hosted the second (regional) round of the All-Russian review and competition of final qualifying works for bachelor's degree programs in the direction 23.03.03 Operation of transport and technological machines and complexes (profile: "Automobiles and automobile economy") in the Northwestern Federal District.
The event was held in accordance with the decision of the Federal Educational and Methodological Association for the enlarged group of specialties and fields of study "Land transport technique and technology".
According to the established tradition, the competition procedures and the jury meeting were held remotely in the form of a video conference. This allowed representatives of all universities that submitted their graduates' works to the competition to take part in the discussion of the works. Thus, representatives of SPbGASU, Velikiye Luki State Agricultural Academy, Murmansk Arctic University, Novgorod State University named after Yaroslav the Wise, and St Petersburg Mining University took part in the work of the jury.
The competition received 19 entries, which was a record number for the entire history of the competition at SPbGASU. The entries were distributed among 16 of 27 nominations, which once again confirmed the diversity of the technical operation of vehicles and the wide employment opportunities for graduates.
The jury members noted the high quality and modern level of the works submitted to the competition. Works in the following nominations were singled out separately: "Study of Designs", "Study of Safety", "Ecology", "Computer and Information Support", which are devoted to topics related to alternative energy, autonomous vehicles and computer modeling. Works from each participating university were advanced to the next, final round of the competition.
Traditionally, a number of prize places were won by the works of SPbGASU graduates.
The first places in the corresponding nominations were taken by the works of Semyon Mikhailov "Project of a passenger car maintenance station for 12 posts of the EuroAuto company" and Dmitry Aleksandrov "Justification of optimal methods for fastening traction batteries on category No. 3 vehicles".
Second place went to the works of Timofey Egorov, “Automation of processes for monitoring the technical condition of motor vehicles when entering and leaving a motor transport enterprise,” and Daniil Levinson, “Development of a system for temperature regulation of traction battery cells in motor transport.”
The works that won first place will be presented at the final third round of the All-Russian competition, which will be held from 13 to 15 November at the Penza State University of Architecture and Construction.
