From 25 to 29 March, the St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering held the divisional qualifying championship “NWC 2024” in the “Engineering Design” competency at the LDBIM Training Center of the Division for Digital Competence in Construction. This competition is one of the intermediate stages of the Industry Championship of Professional Skills AtomSkills-2024.
The competition was attended by current employees of Rosatom State Corporation enterprises:
- JSC KIS "ISTOK", two teams;
- JSC FCNIVT SNPO Eleron, one team;
- FSUE PA Mayak, one team.
According to established tradition, SPbGASU teachers and students took part in the championship, acting as experts and participants.
The teams's main tasks were:
- performing engineering calculations in various specialties;
- making team design decisions based on initial data and calculations;
- creation of a consolidated digital model;
- obtaining drawings from the model.
At the championship, a new approach to issuing competition tasks was tested for the first time: participants received new tasks on each of the three competition days, and the development of an assignment for the next day was carried out by experts directly on the site. The experimental approach to the development of the task was led by Andrey Chumanov, project manager for work with educational organizations at CSoft Development JSC.
Dmitry Evstafiev, director of the design and survey center of JSC KIS "ISTOK" in St Petersburg, was the one who welcomed and awarded the winners, prize-takers and participants of the championship.
Results of industry team competitions:
- 1st place – team of JSC KIS “ISTOK” (1);
- 2nd place – team of FSUE PA Mayak;
- 3rd place – JSC FCNIVT SNPO Eleron;
- 4th place – team of JSC KIS “ISTOK” (2).

The chief expert of the championship was Aleksey Perepelkin, head of the digital engineering development center of VNIPIpromtekhnologii JSC. “I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all participants for their courage. I think that all the experts did an excellent job and completed the task wonderfully, but the heroes of this event are, of course, the participants. I wish you to develop, to involve new participants in this competence, to infect more and more people with this passion and this professional knowledge. Only close interaction between the educational and industry environment, when students solve professional-level problems, allows them to firmly understand where to work next, helps them build an individual trajectory and gain invaluable experience. I wish you a happy journey in your professional development!” – he noted.
SPbGASU is grateful to its partners for their trust and is open to holding championships, master classes and other events at the site of the LDBIM Training Center.
