Last week of April, 2018 the St.-Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering was visited by a group of students and teachers of the Higher technical school of Oldenburg (Germany). German visitors were sightseeing the Northern capital and got acquainted with one of the oldest architecture-building high schools of Russia.
The visit schedule included a work-shop «Reconstruction and zoning of "Olympia" garden.
The garden "Olympia" - one of unique post-war objects of St.-Petersburg, created in 1946 – 1947.Before in this territory there was a popular in the city cinema "Olympia" and Klinsky market, burnt down during the Great Patriotic War as a result of artillery fire. To hide traces of serious destruction it was solved to open a garden. Architects V.A.Kamensky and G.L.Ashrapjan became authors of the project.
Students of both high schools participated in the work-shop. Participants had to develop a flat, T-D or spatial composition on this theme. For strengthening figurative expressiveness there could be provided lighting aids.
The St.-Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering has co-operated with the Higher technical school of Oldenburg since 2005.
