Head of the Department of Architectural and Urban-Planning Heritage Sergey Sementsov spoke about the educational process and the high demand of the region for restoration architects.
✔ The Committee for the Preservation of the Cultural Heritage of the Leningrad Region and SPbGASU have prepared a cooperation agreement for signing, according to which students of the Department of Architectural and Urban Planning Heritage will take an active part in the protection of monuments in the region: the Committee will offer them relevant topics for graduation and term papers, as a result of which these works will be able to form as the basis for design documentation for restoration and renovation. The agreement also provides for lectures and practical exercises at the facilities by the committee's specialists for SPbGASU students.
Until mid-May the exhibition of 26 diploma projects of the Department of Architectural and Urban-Planning Heritage is taking place in the exhibition hall "Smolny". The exhibition is dedicated to the restoration and renovation of historical sites and ensembles of the Leningrad Region.

According to the Associate Professor of the Department of Architectural and Urban-Planning Heritage Nadezhda Akulova, the exhibition can become a serious impetus to the search for investors, help to attract the attention of the public and all interested parties to the acute issue of popularizing cultural heritage sites and their preservation.
The Committee for the Preservation of the Cultural Heritage of the Leningrad Region and SPbGASU are planning to publish joint catalogs and albums with the best diploma projects for the restoration and adaptation of cultural heritage sites.
