St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering entered into a cooperation agreement with the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University (Kaliningrad). It was signed during a visit to IKBFU by a delegation of our university consisting of the First Vice-Rector Svetlana Golovina, Vice-Rector for Educational Activity Sergey Mikhailov and Vice-Rector for Research Evgeny Korolev. On the IKBFU side, the meeting and signing of the agreement were attended by Vice-Rector for Economics and Development Elena Myalkina and representatives of the Institute of High Technologies under the leadership of its Head Artyom Yurov.
The agreement provides for cooperation in the development and implementation of network educational programs, in conducting joint scientific research and projects. “IKBFU is a modern university with a new look at traditions in education. The Kaliningrad region with its architecture is a unique professional environment for architects and restorers,” noted Svetlana Golovina.
“We are actively developing a curriculum for a new direction, taking into account the new system of higher education. We plan that the basic higher education for our students will take five years, then specialization with a choice of track - architecture, reconstruction and restoration, urban planning. Disciplines that are completely new to us will be introduced, for example, architectural physics or materials science, architectural history, and reconstruction of historical buildings. To master specialized disciplines, you need such a reliable and expert partner as the St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering,” added Artyom Yurov, head of the IKBFU Institute of High Technologies.
Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to ensure the training of acutely scarce personnel in the field of architecture and restoration on the basis of the Baltic Federal University during his visit to the Kaliningrad university.
The new program is planned for launching in 2025.
