The GSPC Center participated in the implementation of a number of major projects for St. Petersburg. In particular, scientific studies on the influence of the foundations of buildings and structures on soils, new piles manufacturing technologies, and flight augers at various sites in St. Petersburg were carried out.
Scientific support of the design and construction of various buildings and structures was implemented. During the construction of the five-star Nevsky Palace Hotel (Nevsky Ave. 55-59), it was very important and difficult not only to avoid disrupting the existing ensemble of Nevsky Avenue buildings but also to maintain the integrity of the adjoining buildings, which is not an easy task on weak St. Petersburg soils.
In St. Petersburg, the GSPC Center was actively involved in the construction of the building of the SUE Vodokanal of St. Petersburg (42 Kavalergardskaya St.), the construction of the underground three-tier part of the Second Stage of the Mariinsky Theater, as well as in the reconstruction of the main building of the Bolshoi Drama Theater (BDT), and many others.
The GSPC Center also works outside the hometown. In particular, the center made a significant contribution to the creation of the Kirishinefteorgsintez construction complex, the Swedish Wood-Tikhvin factory and the Five Seas building in Rostov-on-Don.
In various years, the Center carried out geotechnical and hydrogeological surveys for construction and reconstruction projects of more than 50 residential and public buildings, including architectural monuments:
- The Pulkovo II airport building
- Monument to I. Kapodistri, OSVOD building (the former house of Musin-Pushkin)
- Residential memorial building in Pavlovsk
- The Museum House of F. Chaliapin
- Technical inspection of more than 150 residential, public and industrial buildings in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region
- Geotechnical monitoring of construction and reconstruction of buildings at a number of facilities of LenSpetsSMU, LEK, Nevsky Syndicate and others.
Graduate students and teachers of SPbGASU, working at the Center, have the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice and at the same time bring the latest practical experience to teaching.
