Orienteering is a sport in which athletes use a compass and map to look for checkpoints in the area. Competitions are held in the city or in the field. In the classic version of the competition, athletes move by running, although there are also skiing and other options.
The SPbGASU orienteering team has existed for a long time and regularly takes part in various competitions, including championships among the universities of St Petersburg. University students have repeatedly won prizes.
