Why don't we call ourselves a collective, a group or even an ensemble, but introduce ourselves as the BACKSHOTcrew team? It's simple - the answer lies in the very philosophy of such a cultural phenomenon as dancehall. Dancehall is not only a street dance direction that came from Jamaica, but also a whole cultural layer of life on an island in the Caribbean. Dancehall is about music, movements, lifestyle, and, of course, the people themselves. The formation of the current dance was influenced precisely by the teams of Jamaican dancers, who once became like-minded people, support and strength to each other. We accept this baton and proudly call ourselves a team, because thanks to teamwork and full dedication together we achieve high results.

The first BACKSHOTcrew team debuted on stage in the spring of 2019, and by 2022 we have already become laureates and prize-winners of such well-known festivals and competitions as Student Spring, Grooving on Vasilyevsky, LIKI SESSION, ART -Studio", "Youth Rhythm", etc.

“Despite the fact that dancehall originated at street parties in Kingston, and not in the hall of classical dance at the barre, self-discipline is an important part of developing the technique and skills of a dancer in this style,” warns our choreographer and ideological inspirer Maria Lyubetskaya.
