“Photography is something like a premonition of life, when the photographer, perceiving the changing plastic information, in a split second captures the expressive balance that suddenly arose in endless movement ...” - this is how the famous photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson said about photography. Now even a child, by lightly pressing the camera button, is able to “stop the moment”, but only a person with a creative talent – an artist – can make it beautiful.

The "Kirpich" student creativity club runs the SPbGASU photo studio. Classes are taught by experienced photographers who have participated in numerous exhibitions. The program includes the history of photography, a basic course in photography techniques, composition, framing, working with studio lighting and the specifics of creating a photographic image, watching films about photography and photographers and studying how to work with a frame using the example of camera art in classical cinema, studio and plein air photo shoots. All this, together with master classes and creative meetings, not only contributes to the development of taste, visual literacy and "panoramic vision", a sense of perspective, color and chiaroscuro, but also unites like-minded people - fans of the art of "light painting".

Every year, the studio holds photo marathons (in autumn and spring), photo contests on various topics, participants develop and shoot creative projects in the studio. Twice a year, the studio organizes exhibitions: a reporting exhibition of the studio and an exhibition-competition, in which everyone can participate.

Another of the studio's activities is the coverage of student life. The results of this work can be seen on the pages of the university newspaper "Za Stroitelnye Kadry".

Join the photo studio! We are glad to see everyone who is interested in photography, regardless of your skill and equipment.
