The choice of topics for term papers and projects in the major discipline "Introduction to Architectural Design" is determined by the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard and is planned taking into account current trends in the field of architecture and construction. The subject of the course design reflects public objects, small architectural forms, urban planning objects and landscape design objects. Particular attention is paid to the techniques of professional presentation of finished projects. All disciplines are provided with the necessary educational and methodological literature. As part of the preparation of students, the department organizes international trips to get acquainted with the world architectural heritage.

The department conducts research and creative work, the result of which is the preparation of PhD thesis. In order to develop scientific activity, a postgraduate course was opened in the direction 05.23.20 "Theory and History of Architecture, Restoration and Reconstruction of the Historical and Architectural Heritage".
