Department of Technology of Construction Materials and Metrology
About the department
The department is a leader in the production and use of fiber-reinforced concrete. In the course of research that has been ongoing since 1970, building composites of various densities and strengths have been developed, and the areas of their rational use have been determined. The work carried out by the department in this direction served as the basis for the start of industrial production of fiber-reinforced concrete products and structures for various purposes and was awarded the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology.

Dear colleagues and friends! Welcome to the webpage of the Department of Technology of Construction Materials and Metrology!
The department is one of the oldest in the university, with four doctors and 13 candidates of sciences, it implements and increases the experience of many generations in solving various issues of building science and practice.
The scientific and production work of the department covers a range of issues on the creation of new and improvement of existing building materials and technological processes, the use of by-products and local raw materials, the technology of modified heavy and light concrete, heat-insulating and fire-resistant materials and products.

For the first time in the history of building materials science, systematic developments are being carried out on the use of nanotechnologies in the preparation of concrete mixtures and the creation of high-quality concretes on their basis for buildings and structures for various purposes.
The teachers at the department have developed methods and tools for predicting and preventing the formation and emission of ammonia from concrete at the stages of manufacturing and early hardening of reinforced concrete structures.
On the basis of the department with the participation of other departments of the university, the regional department of the RAACS and the leading enterprises of the construction industry of St Petersburg, the Scientific and Educational Center (REC) "Effective building materials, structures and technologies for unique buildings and structures" was created.
