1970-s

• The departments of Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU), Marxist-Leninist Philosophy, Political Economy, Scientific Communism became separated in technical universities.

1973

• All these departments were established in Leningrad Civil Engineering Institute. They were separated and at the same time united under the supervision of the Department of Social Sciences.
• Later the departments were united under the Faculty of Humanities together with the Department of Physical Training, the Department of Russian and more.

Present time

• The Department of History and Philosophy is included into the Faculty of Economics and Management.
