In general, the low level of competition in the field of education in this area is associated, first of all, with the novelty of topics and technologies being introduced, and provides significant opportunities for growth and a qualitative change in the professional training of specialists.

Internship

Students undergo their practical studies in banks; in the currency and financial divisions and departments of foreign economic activity of enterprises and organizations, the North-Western Customs Administration; in state structures and public authorities; FTS, foreign companies; at the base department of the TransBalt Group of Companies, etc.

The department has created an educational platform, which includes:

• Basic Department of Economic Security of LLC GC "TransBalt";
• The INFOWATCH group of companies specializing in information security in the corporate sector: protecting corporations from information leaks and targeted attacks from outside;
• Atom Security LLC, the Russian developer of software in the field of information security and control of personnel actions;
• the Sevzapmontazhavtomatika company (engaged in the design, installation and maintenance of engineering systems);
• OOO SNG-Avtotrans.

The department provides good material, technical and methodological support, which is focused on modern high-tech education and the need to introduce innovative technologies into the educational process. There are specialized multimedia lecture halls and fixed computer classes equipped with modern personal computers, a local area network connected to the university-wide computer network and having high-speed Internet access. The software provided by the developers: INFOWATCH Group of Companies, Atom Security LLC and Sevzapmontazhavtomatika allows conducting practical classes on its basis in many disciplines.

Career

The scope of application of competencies obtained in the learning process is quite wide, since they are focused on the development of the digital economy; associated with the ability to build mechanisms for the effective use of information resources and from these positions to modernize business processes in both the corporate and public sectors; allow modeling strategies and competitiveness at various levels based on information systems, analysis and interpretation of data in digital form, their integration and understanding of the features of infrastructure development for the digital economy. As a rule, employment of graduates is carried out at job levels corresponding to the established qualification level of 6.7 (leading and senior specialist, specialist of 1 and 2 categories, coordinator, expert, consultant).

Graduates in the field of study 38.05.01 "Economic security" can be occupied in:

• structures exercising control and supervisory functions in the financial and economic spheres of activity;
• consulting companies;
• private entrepreneurship;
• international organizations;
• information and analytical departments of companies involved in the collection and processing of information on market conditions, production technologies;
• investment, banking, credit, etc. organizations;
• positions requiring higher economic education;
• organizations of various industries and forms of ownership (including financial and credit, non-profit, non-governmental and public organizations) implementing measures to improve the efficiency of financial, economic and management activities in the context of digitalization of the economy;
• academic and departmental research organizations that carry out theoretical and applied research to substantiate the directions of development of the economy, digital technologies, social and financial spheres, management mechanisms in the state, public and commercial sectors;
• educational institutions of higher and additional professional education.

The department actively participates in many international, Russian and university scientific events, and independently holds conferences, seminars, round tables, open lectures, forums. Students studying in the specialty "Economic Security" have repeatedly become winners of international and all-Russian Olympiads and participants in the forums of young scientists.
