Linear algebra and the theory of functions of several variables are indispensable for economists for the course of decision optimization and game theory. Multiple and curvilinear integrals are necessary in structural mechanics, strength of materials. Differential equations are required in design engineering and stability theory, and mathematical analysis is the main tool for describing the analysis of engineering processes.
As a fundamental science, higher mathematics is taught in the first and second years. In the specialty "Applied Mathematics and Informatics" it is taught throughout the entire course.

Dear colleagues, friends! Welcome to the webpage of the Department of Mathematics.
Our department is one of the oldest in the university (founded around 1874). The department employs highly qualified teachers, among them two doctors and 11 candidates of sciences.
Students get involved in the learning process starting with mathematics as a basic discipline, on the basis of which other engineering sciences will be taught, the language of which is mathematics. Mathematics disciplines thinking, teaches balanced reasoning, develops logic. So, students from the first year get used to regular learning activities.
